Talking about strong fingernails for vegetarians. Seaweed, once or twice a week, will give vegetarians nice strong fingernails. I think it might be the silica? Not sure about that. It’ll take a few weeks, though, before your new, stronger fingernails grow out, and you notice the difference. So be patient. There are quite a few types of seaweed available, but nori roasted seaweed “paper” is very handy and convenient as sheets–all ready to rip up and toss into anything. It has a nice strong tasty flavour, too. Nowadays, it’s usually available at most supermarkets, even in small country towns, in the Asian section–sold for making “sushi” with. Try ripping up a couple of sheets of nori sushi seaweed paper into two-minute noodles. That’s a quick, easy and delish way to take it, a couple of times a week. You’ll really admire your nice strong fingernails, then. Other ways to use nori sushi seaweed paper? It’s nice in an omelet. (Just tear it up, and moisten it a bit, and then stir it into the omelet mixture. Very scrumptious!) Seaweed can be added to soups and stews; to spaghetti sauces. It can be moistened and used as a salad vegetable; or a sandwich filling. It can be put in vegetarian patties; or used in stir-fries. Try stirring pieces of nori paper into fried rice, too. That’s very nice. Or stir it into stewed lentils; or baked beans. Use your imagination–that’s what it’s for!!!! Yeah! You could make the traditional sushi rolls out of nori paper, too, if you like. Here’s an easy-to-follow video on how to remove the meat from a lobster. Step 1: Prepare live lobster: First of all put the lobster in the freezer for about 1 hour 30 minutes to two hours - this will effectively send it into a deep sleep. Take it out of the freezer and at this point I always give the lobster a kiss — I have always done this, it sounds a bit silly but it just makes me feel a bit better for what I am about to do. Put the lobster on the counter, on its belly, with its head facing you, place a sharp knife on the lobster’s head, behind its eyes. Press down through the lobster with the blade of the knife and then pull the knife swiftly towards you — and that’s it, you are ready to cook it. Step 2: Cook lobster: Put the lobster in a large pan of boiling water on the hob - put a lid on it, re-boil and then simmer gently for 20 minutes (this is for an average-size lobster of about 1.25kg). After that time take the pan off the hob and place in the sink under a gently running cold tap for half an hour to cool it down. That’s it — your lobster is cooked. A quick tip; overcooking can cause the tail meat to toughen and the claw meat to become hard and chewy. Step 3: Remove meat: Now to remove the tail meat in one piece; pull the tail away from the head and then, with a pair of scissors, cut through the shell on either side. Recipe: Balsamic-Maple Glazed Ham Ingredients 1 bone-in skinless smoked ham, shank or butt end portion (7 lb.) 1/4 cup KRAFT Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing 1/4 cup maple-flavored or pancake syrup 1 Tbsp. GREY POUPON Dijon Mustard 8 parsnips (2 lb.), trimmed, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch-wide spears 1-1/2 lb. baby carrots 3 Tbsp. olive oil Directions HEAT oven to 325ºF. Place ham, fat-side up, in foil-lined roasting pan. Score ham; cover with foil. Bake 1 hour. Mix dressing, syrup and mustard; brush 1/3 of glaze onto ham. BAKE, uncovered, 1 hour or until ham is heated through (140ºF). Brush with remaining glaze every 20 min. Meanwhile, toss parsnips and carrots with oil in large shallow baking pan. Look at this wine barrel planter, fabulous way to get your own veggies into the kitchen. Some mizzuna, some red mustard, there’s even some chard in here! I see chives, onions and notice the flowers, beautiful. Easier to produce and put together than you could imagine. First, start with the stuff that you like to put in your dishes. If you like to use a lot of parsley, put it in there. Maybe broccoli, cauliflower.. In my case, I’m a huge fan of fresh beets, I love beets! I also love arugula, there’s nothing like an arugula salad and heck it works in soups and on pizzas. And I also use a lot of chives, so that’s what’s going to go into my garden. First step is with this wine barrel here; include a little bit of gravel on the bottom, 1 to 2 inches, a high quality potting soil too. Be sure to read the label! You want things like feather meal, kelp meal, bat guano.. This is good stuff for inside your garden. Once it’s in there, you’re ready to Rock and Roll. You get planting by mixing in a diversity of plants. Break up the roots a little bit, plant to the same depth as where the plant might have been inside the 6 pack.
