In this version the mixer puts in a strong dash of olive brine in with the original martini recipe, add olives. The brine is the juice that the bar olives come in. Easiest when stored in a squirt bottle, the result is the same… a delicious, salty and savory flavor like no other. I prefer my dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. Cheers!

Gaining it’s popularity in a bar called ‘El Foridita, in Havana… This is a simple mixture of light rum, sugar and lime juice. There are many, many variations! All kinds of flavors. In this video… I use a blender, but the original recipe calls for a highball glass full of crushed ice, one spoon of sugar on top… the juice of a fresh lime and a generous pour of rum on top of that. Then it was stirred by the guest with a long handled spoon… Picture a hazy, hot, slowwww day out on the back porch…Cheers!

With so many bartenders staking claim on it’s creation… there is no way of knowing exactly where it was invented… It does seem to be generally recognized as a drink since the late 1980s and since then… it’s popularity has skyrocketed to it’s current stature as the quintessential ‘martini cocktail’. Made with vodka (originally ‘citrus’ vodka), triple sec & cranberry juice, squeeze of lemon and give it a good shake. Cheers! Stay thirsty my friends!
